Men's
The Centenary Gents are looking to condition their squad for this year’s tournament play after facing Baylor, LSU and a host of other challenging teams during the regular season. New head coach Greg Gary hopes to improve on the Gents’ 10-21 overall record from the 07-08 season.
    Women's
Despite ending last season with a 4-25 overall record, the Centenary Ladies are expecting an exciting season. Returning all five starters from last year, the Ladies take on a variety of NCAA tournament-caliber teams that will challenge and improve their roster.

 


 

Men's
The IPFW Mastodons are looking for a winning season under the leadership of Dane Fife, who has led them to double-digit victories in his first three seasons as head coach. Along with two returning starters and four letterwinners, the Mastodons hope to improve on last year’s fifth place Summit League finish.
    Women's
Last season, the IPFW Mastodons were 9-9 in Summit League action and fell to eventual champions Oral Roberts in the opening round of tournament play. This year, helping lead them to victory is sophomore guard Jordan Zuppe, the lone underclassman named to the League’s Preseason Second Team.

 


 

Men's
Last year’s IUPUI Jaguars boasted an impressive 26-7 record, producing a first round NBA Draft pick in George Hill, who now plays for the San Antonio Spurs. The team took second in last year’s Summit League finals and returns, hungrier than ever, with an athletic and versatile squad.
    Women's
Coming off the most successful season in their Division I history, the IUPUI Jaguars return four starters from last year’s squad on their journey to an NCAA tournament berth. The team went to last year’s Summit League finals and is the only program with two players named to the Summit Preseason First Team.

 


 

Men's
The NDSU Bison are hotly anticipating this year’s play, tabbed second in a preseason poll and with Preseason Player of the Year, Ben Woodside. The veteran team boasts the return of all five starters from last year’s 16-13 squad and is now eligible for conference tournament play.
    Women's
After five graduating five successful seniors, including last year’s Summit League Player of the Year, this year’s NDSU Bison basketball team has a fresh look at victory. The Bison return one starter from last year’s team, which tied for second in the Summit League with a 12-6 record.

 


 

Men's
The OU Golden Grizzlies were tabbed third in the Summit League’s preseason polls, with five returning starters off last year’s 17-14 squad. These starters include Johnathon Jones, the only Summit League player to make the 2008-09 Preseason Mid-Major Men's Basketball All-America Team.
    Women's
The OU Golden Grizzlies were voted second in this year’s Summit League preseason poll off a successful 20-10 overall season last year. Oakland is also the proud home of Jessica Pike, Summit League Preseason Player of the Year.

 


 

Men's
Over the last decade, the ORU Golden Eagles  have enjoyed some big wins, defeating the likes of Arkansas, Georgetown, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Kansas. Tabbed the preseason favorite, ORU will pursue a repeat conference championship in its 12th year in the Summit League.
    Women's
With an overall record of 19-14 last season, the ORU Golden Eagles picked up a second-straight Summit League tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in school history. Tabbed third in a preseason poll, they’re looking to do it again this year.

 


 

Men's
Since the birth of their first men’s basketball team in 1905, the SDSU Jackrabbits have earned 24 NCAA postseason berths and one glorious win in 1964. This year they’re looking to dominate the Summit League, hosted right in their home state of South Dakota.
    Women's
Named the Summit League preseason favorite, the  SDSU Jackrabbits have reached the women’s WNIT quarterfinals in previous seasons and are boasting a strong program again this year. The team is just completing its transition to Division I athletics with nine-year head coach, Aaron Johnston.

 


 

Men's
With an overall record of 13-17, the SUU Thunderbirds suffered a disappointing loss to IPFW in last year’s Summit League tournament. This year, the Thunderbirds return with second-year coach Roger Reid in the hopes of capturing their sixth NCAA tournament berth.
    Women's
The SUU Thunderbirds open the 08-09 season with a returning group of starters and promising newcomers. Last season, the Thunderbirds entered the Summit League tournament as a #6 seed but fell to IUPUI in the opening round. This year, they’re looking for redemption.

 


 

Men's
The UMKC Kangaroos were heartbroken by a quarterfinal loss to IUPUI in last year’s Summit League tournament. With players named to the All-League Second Team and All-Newcomer team, respectively, ‘Roos are back with victory in sight for the 08-09 season.
    Women's
The UMKC Kangarooswrapped up the 07-08 season with an 11-20 overall record and an upset over #2 seeded Western Illinois in the Summit League championships. The ‘Roos return four players from last year’s squad and welcome nine newcomers.

 


 

Men's
The WIU Leathernecks return to the Summit League this year with first-year head coach Jim Molinari, six players from last year’s roster and several exciting newcomers. The team finished last season with a 12-18 record overall, 7-11 in the conference.
    Women's
The WIU Leathernecks finished 14-16 overall last season, but with an impressive 12-6 conference record. This season they face teams from the Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC in regular season play and look to make a successful showing at the Summit League tournament.
